Albert Fayle

Epithet: Officer in the King's Liverpool Regiment

Record type: First World War Biographies

Biography: Albert Fayle was born in Douglas, the son of a gentleman's outfitter who owned his own business. Upon the outbreak of war he enlisted in the ranks of the Public Schools Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment, and proceeded to France in November 1915. Very quickly it was realised that these well educated young men were more valuable as officers, and in July 1916 Albert received a commission as an officer in the King's Liverpool Regiment.
