Biography: Age 27, Geoffrey Deakin is a plumber, and comes from Cheadle, Cheshire. He has been trials riding since 1952, and in 1957 was a passenger to the South African rider, G. Humby, who was tenth in the Sidecar T.T. on a Norton. Geoff himself rode in the 1958 500 c.c. Clubman's race and finished twelfth.
The frame of the machine which he rode last year was designed and made by his passenger, Ernie Sheldon. and himself: there were disc brakes on the the rear and sidecar wheels, also designed by Ernie Sheldon. Unluckily, however, he had to retire on the first lap. Hobbies: Golf and tennis. (TT Special, 12 June 1961, p.22)
