Biography: Extract from 'The Story of Eleanor Brennan' by Bellanne Stowell 1859: "Nellie Brennan who did such good work in the time of the Cholera in Douglas early in 1800 or soon after. How she busily went into the houses and carried the dead out into the street and lifted them into their coffins. She was only a poor charwoman but a thorough Christian".
