Biography: Victor Colquitt gave his occupation as 'Printer' when he joined the Royal Navy aged 17 in 1896. His career took him all over the world in the years prior to the First World War. During the war he served aboard HMS Indomitable, reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer. His only injury during his long career came in a fall from a derrick in 1917, which eventually resulted in his discharge from the Royal Navy. He died in Douglas in 1963. (Image ref: PG/14448/1).
