Could you tell me if this is James Holmes, the merchant and banker, who died in 1850s? I am researching the loss of a sloop, called the JAMES HOLMES, near Rhyl on 12 September 1826 and am wondering of the sloop was owned by him and named after him. The sloop was registered at the port of Douglas. If there were any additional information about the sloop in archive collections I would be most grateful to know. - Deanna GroomReport this
