Biography: Percival Kermode Moore (known as Percy) was born at Castletown. He was the oldest son of Thomas Moore, a baker from Bank Street, and at the time of the First World War was a scholarship boy at King William's College. In 1916, Percy was called up for military service and joined the 5th battalion King's Liverpool Regiment. Shortly afterwards he was posted to France. He died of wounds on 11 February 1917, and was buried at Etaples Military Cemetery. He was 19 years of age. (Image ref: PG/13743/24).
