Biography: Thomas Corrin was a postman working at Manchester sorting office when the First World War broke out. He was originally from the Isle of Man, and had been a postman at Castletown. He joined the Royal Engineers Postal Section, which was responsible for the many thousands of items of mail which passed between the home front and battlefronts each week. Corrin served in France and Italy, but was invalided home. He died in hospital in Edinburgh, of natural causes. (Image ref: PG/13743/73).
