Biography: A note on the back of a photo of John Kissack (written by a Miss Sayle) reads:- "Foxdale, miner, who died in 1902 aged 47. Native of Foxdale, he took part in the rescue at the Snaefell Mine Disaster in 1897. He went to America twice, first time to California for the Gold Rush".
