John Maitland, of the Duke of Wellington’s Own Regiment, has been missing since Monday, after an engagement in France. Lieut. Maitland, who is 24 years of age, enlisted as a private at the outbreak of war. He had passed through Cambridge, and had just taken his degree as an English barrister. Great sympathy will be felt for the Speaker and Miss Woodhead in their anxiety, and it is hoped that some news of the missing young man will soon come to hand.”
