Skeealyn Vannin, Disk 3 Track 12ii: Singer: John Joseph Sansbury, Rushen

Date(s): 1948

Creator(s): Irish Folklore Commission

Transcript: 1
Waken, oh Lord, our drowsy sense
To walk this dangerous road
And if our souls be hurried hence
May they be found with God

How so’er are fresh and fair
This morning beauty shows
‘Tis all cut down and withered white
Before the evening close

Thou turnest man, oh Lord, to dust
Of which he first was made
And when thou speak’st the word return
‘Tis instantly obeyed
