Administration / Biographical History: Born on 5 March 1958, Andy was the youngest of the Gibb brothers by nearly a decade. Emigrating from Lancashire to Australia at six months of age, he moving to the Isle of Man with his parents at the age of thirteen.

In 1974 Andy formed a band of his own - Melody Fayre, composed of Andy and three local musicians John Stringer, Stan Hughes, and John Alderson. Their stint on the Isle of Man didn’t last the year however, and Andy moved back to Australia with Alderson and Stringer to try his luck in warmer climes. With his Australian ventures largely ending in failure, Andy ended up moving to the USA where his fortunes increased considerably, if for a time. Three consecutive number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 in the space of a year and leading roles on the stage with Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat in 1981 provided stardom.

Sadly, drug abuse would plague Andy’s career through the 1980s. His successes on Broadway petered out as his addiction worsened. Andy died from myocarditis on 10 March 1988 at the young age of thirty. He remains well-remembered and beloved by many of his fans and colleagues.
