First World War internee Paul Max Georg Ebert in front of an internment hut, Knockaloe Camp, Isle of Man
Date(s): ?1917
Scope & Content: The identification of Paul Max Georg Ebert is based upon the prisoner number 14987 which appears on the glassplate, and comparison with repatriation lists which appear on the ICRC website. His Red Cross information bureau number was 19430. According to the record he arrived Knockaloe 8/3/18 but this seems unlikely given his camp number. Probably a misprint, 8/3/16 would seem more likely.
Address at time of arrest recorded on ICRC documents as: 33 Barclay Road, Walham Green, London
Home: Dresden, Sachsen, Webergasse 10. Age: 22 (Nb a Paul Max Ebert of the right age is recorded on the 1911 Census as a waiter at the Grand Hotel, King's Road, Brighton).
