St Barnabas Square, Douglas
Date(s): n.d. [1932-1934]
Creator(s): Frowde, John James
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'A bit in St. Barnabas' Sq. which seems (more than any other effort of mine in that Sq. prior to this) to convey that sense of a scene with a smack of the continental ancient town about it. It has always brought to my mind sheltering during a violent thunderstorm in a cobbled area at the rear of the cathedral of S. Pierre in Geneva on a Sunday afternoon long ago. FD 45 best for sharpness. Church diamond panes fairly clear [in May?] Cobbles come out well in this No.2'.
