Hills Gardens, Douglas
Date(s): c.1908
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'Taken from an upstairs back window - Circular Road or E end of Belmont Terrace. Former, I fancy. Pleasant Sunday afternoon in Summer about 1908 with Mr W A Gell. His the greenhouse just below the tall nurses block on the left. Comet visible, with long streaming tail, about SW of this point at that period. Good view of it away from town lights. W A Gell had a wonderful collection of roses - an expert - and Mr W F Dickinson (advocate) though extra well versed in rose culture, was often glad of W A G's council. Env VI, 6'.
