Mounted illuminated address from members of the Liverpool Manx Society to John Caine

Scope & Content: Illustrations depict scenes from Liverpool (Wapping Dock, St George's Hall and Liverpool Landing Stage) and Isle of Man (Ramsey, Tower of Refuge, Peel Castle and Castletown) as well as featuring photographs of Caine and his wife.
The hand drawn and coloured text, prepared by Wright and Cox, Lord St, Liverpool states that the presentation is made 'as a mark of our appreciation in recognition of the valuable services you have given to the furtherance of benevolent and philanthropic objects for the benefit of your Manx fellow countrymen in this city extending over a period of twenty one years and more, especially in the active part you have taken in the foundation of the Society named above'. Signed on behalf of the subscribers by the President Thomas Callow and Secretary John Costain, the address concludes, ' We trust the Almighty may spare you many years in good health to render similar service in the new sphere you have moved to and we beg Mrs Caine's acceptance of the small present accompanying this address'.
