Scope & Content: A manuscript letter from the Home Secretary, Lord Sidmouth, informing the Duke of Atholl that he has been unable to converse with the Manx Attorney General, William Frankland, regarding his non-residence from the island; Lord Sidmouth goes on to state that while Frankland's absence might be of inconvenience, he believes that the Attorney General has an efficient deputy on the isle who fulfils his duties for him; Sidmouth declares that until he has more information on the matter, he does not feel justified in asking Frankland to resign from his position.
