Scope & Content: Volume one of Peter Farrant's memoirs has a postscript and appendices including the text of a talk given to Lonan Men's Fellowship in February 1998 entitled 'Last Days of the Raj'.

Volume two contains his description of war service in Italy - Garigliano and Anzio - with 1 Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Composed largely when on release leave in July/August 1947 the volume includes transcripts of letters home to parents in 1946 from India about the 'Great Calcutta Killing' as well as later notes on OCTU (Officer Cadet Training Unit) training in the Isle of Man and England. It includes the text of the author's first talk in 1995 to Lonan Men's Fellowship, 'Some reminiscences of the Italian Campaign by a 'D Day dodger'. Typescript.
