River fishing in the Isle of Man
https://youtu.be/ur_W5dP5qTEDate(s): 1930-1950
Creator(s): Royston, J. Walter
Scope & Content: Catching fish with the use of a fish ladder. Fish put in milk churns and transported to the fish farm at Glen Wyllin (the mill-dam was converted for the fish; the mill buildings in the distance have since collapsed into the sea because of coastal erosion).
Stripping of fish eggs and sperm. A pipette possibly used to remove the unfertilised or dead eggs and separate them from the healthy eggs which are then fertilised.
Film ends with captions, 'Isle of Man Board of Agriculture & Fisheries', 'Improving River Fishing in the Isle of Man'.
