Scope & Content: A manuscript copy of a letter sent by the Home Secretary, Lord Sidmouth, informing Lieutenant Governor Smelt of His Majesty's Attorney General's report, concerning Government House at Castle Rushen; Lord Sidmouth states that the Duke of Atholl has no right to remove Smelt and his family from the residence; he goes on to express the hope and expectation that Smelt 'will not fail to manifest upon all occasions and encourage in others that respect and attention which are due to His Majesty's Governor of the Isle of Man.'
