Scope & Content: A manuscript letter from the Home Secretary, Lord Sidmouth, acknowledging receipt of the Duke of Atholl's multiple letters of 19 and 31 October and 10 November; Lord Sidmouth informs the Duke that there are no more regular troops available to send to the Isle of Man; he further states that before His Grace's proposal to raise troops on the island is approved, more information will be required; Lord Sidmouth also reports that he has recommended to the Board of Ordnance that the arms and ammunition, currently on the island, should be retained there until a decision is made regarding the raising of troops.
