No. 19 New Bond Street, Douglas
Date(s): 1932
Creator(s): Frowde, John James
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'No. 19 New Bond St - 1st house demolished, winter 1932. No. 19 New Bond St., the first house to be taken down in the demolition area. In this congested area, when no. 19 'came down', it was surprising to note that at the rear there was a grass plot, and the walls ivy-clad. The old cannon (by the man's left shoulder), there as a fender all my lifetime, and long before possibly. Quaint window apertures in gable. Old cannon as stop, corner of Stowell's Lane. Dark sepia matt in p.c. series-much better'.
