Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'The front of Cain's shop, no 4 New Bond St, with the name in inch thick wooden letter's, old style. The narrow space in the lane made it impossible to get a sharp film, as the distance from the lens was very much less than the minimum reguired for a properly focussed film. This remark applies to many other prints in this series, from films exposed in these narrow lanes. See RII/9 in sepia'.
