St Matthew's Hall in 1912, Douglas
Date(s): 1912
Creator(s): Frowde, John James
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'St Matthew's Hall in 1912. All the buildings in New Bond St from this point to Parade St were then intact. In later years, the three storey house behind the lamp, no 17, and still later, the Step-down Inn next to it, were demolished, leaving an open space which is apparent in some of my snaps (1932-34). These Keig photo's of 1912 I insert to supply an idea of what the old street was like in my earlier days, and for 'forty years on', - and more. See also MT 276, Keig's Plate series: - stand camera'.
