Steam Packet Boat Leaving Queen's Pier, Ramsey, Isle of Man
Date(s): c.1900
Scope & Content: A view at the end of the Queen’s Pier in Ramsey shows a Steam Packet boat en route for either Belfast or Ardrossan. They would call in on the outward journey and on the return thus providing visitors with the opportunity of staying in Ramsey, either in the fine new hotels and guesthouses on the Mooragh Promenade or in properties on the south shore which were converted to boarding houses, some having extra floors added to their height or outlets built to the rear in order to accommodate as many people as possible.
