Farm Building Pigeon Holes on the Gable Wall, Isle of Man

Date(s): early 20th century

Scope & Content: This type of building, with all those pigeon holes, was once a common sight on many Manx farms. There has been a lean-to building on the gable which shows from the cement verge left on the gable where a roof has been removed. An interesting feature is the arch to the right of the building – was it an opening at one time or just a decorative feature? The cart bears a name plate on which the word Ramsey can be made out but that’s all.
