Scope & Content: J. Robinson begs leave most respectfully to inform his Friends and the Public in general that he has entered upon the above old Established Inn, and hopes by strict attention to the comfort of his Visitors, with modest changes to merit a continuance of that support so liberally bestowed upon his predecesor Mr J. Redfern.
Illustrated with a paddle steamer in lively seas with sails unfurled.
Administration / Biographical History: The premises of this inn on James' Street, Douglas had connections from 1819 at least with butcher J Redfern, butcher. As late as 1848 T Redfern was also advertising as a butcher in James St, hence the name from the trade of butcher.
