'The Manxman at Home: Tales and Traditions related round-about his Turf Fire'

Scope & Content: In this handwritten account, Harrison writes, 'In introducing the Tales and Traditions of the Manx peasantry to the reader, I scarce know what to say in the face of what a goverment school inspector once told me -that such tales were "all stuff, Trash"! He was one of those persons who complacently suppose everything to be nonsense, which they do not perfectly comprehend, or flatter themselves they do'.
