Scope & Content: The petition involves the potentional sale of some curragh land ' being over flown with water and dangerous for beasts to pasture in'. The plan was for a buyer to drain the land.
It had belonged to John Looney who bought it from William Quirk some 30 years prior. John Looney gave it in a marriage contract to John and Isabell, who died with a palsy. She left it to their daughter Ann Kewley who died and then their other daughter Katherine.
Patrick Kewley is committed to ' the care and tuition of their said children unto your petitioner ... which has rendered him unable of getting either a livelyhood for himself or for his sd childeren wch are both underage by wh meanes he is forced to expend wt little goods he had to bring the sd children & also his said father in law Jon Looney who is now in a feeble & weak condition by reason of his great age ...'
