Scope & Content: Two letters dated 1912 from Rev H Llewellyn Henchman to Mr Clucas and to A W Moore on his ancestry. His Great Uncle was Archdeacon Hugh Gill and his Grandfather William Llewellyn (born 1830), Archdeacon of Grahamstown, South Africa. Llewellyn's Father was John Llewellyn of Peel- Barrister and MHK William Llewellyn's Grandmother was a Margaret Crellin, Daughter of Vicar General John Crellin. His mother was Christian Catherine Kelly - a daughter of Sir George Moore. A letter from Lucinda Brooke Bell (nee Symes) Gill to Willliam Cubbon mentions the Isle of Man Antiquarian Society and Deemster Gill's methods of collecting Manx music. A handwritten tree with a typescript copy records three generations of the Brooke family of Druidale with John Brooke MHH in the middle. Biographical information on the Hart and Boswell families is contained in a letter dated 1935 forwarded by Liverpool University. A note on paper headed The Gypsy Lore Society accompanies it.

A sheet titled Joseph R Bowman bears a list of transcriptions of records relating to this family. It commences 'Joseph Robert Bowman was married at Kirk Braddan in the Isle of Man to Anne Jane Quayle of Douglas on the 22nd of December 1852'. The final entry reads 'Edward James Bowman married at St Luke's Liverpool by the Archedeacon Madden to Anna Isabella Kermode late of Surby, Port Erin, Isle of Man 19th Dec 1912.' Two pages of notes (in Paton's hand) list Christian/Oates marriages from 1787 or 1789, and 1793. The parties are Thomas Christian and Margaret Oates, and John Christian (Royal Manx Fencibles) and Catherine Oates- possibly of The Flat, Lezayre. A typescript (2 copies) records genealogical notes on the Corrin family 'Corrin The Banker' extracted from a family Bible. 15 births are listed, spanning 1813-1836. Letitia was born in Dublin in 1833 and there are two Charlotte Janes recorded (1826 and 1827).

A hand drawn tree and accompanying typed one records the ancestors of Maurice Temple Wilson who was the M T W referred to in poetry by T E Brown. His mother was Annie Elizabeth Moore who had parents Edward Moore and Susannah Lucas. Two items relate to the Stephens/Gill families- a letter dated 1889 addressed to Mr Kermode from Fred Gill reads, 'My Mother was Charlotte Augusta, the third of Vicar General Stephen's many children (he had some 20 in all) by Charlotte daughter of Thomas Dl Gelling Rector of Ballaugh whose wife was Elizabeth, daughter of Deemster Daniel Lace of Ballavodden, Andreas. My Mother was baptised at Ballaugh in 1805, married Joseph Gill (one of the Kenna family) in Italy, and had six children who lived to grow up- she died at Palermo in 1862. Deemster Lace had 3 daughters- no sons- 1. Ann, married William Cubbon of B.Callin, Patrick, brother (?) of Vicar General Cubbon. 2. Elizabeth who married Thomas Daniel Gelling & 3 ? who married Harrison of Cooilbane'.

The remainder of the file comprises scraps of notes. Families include Tenison, De Le Pryme, Christian, Forbes, Gawne, Genete, Robinson and Marteussen van Rosenvelt.
