Scope & Content: These handwritten notes include a list of men under the sails they worked on; a transcription of a certificate for exception of impressment from the Royal Navy for the crew of the Ramsey fishing boat 'Britannia' dated 13 June 1812; a list of crew with their age, height, hair colour and complexion (William Kinreade, Philip Tear, John Callister, William Kissack, Thomas Kissack, Thomas Kinreade, Daniel Clarke, and Thomas Tear). The typescript transcription begins with a description of Thomas Callister's impressment into the Royal Navy on 8 September 1798 from the schooner 'Spider' off Port Erin Bay and the voyage to Plymouth. This includes a description of the naval ships Callister was on and describes voyages with dates, for the Mediterranean, Atlantic coast of France and West Indies.

Administration / Biographical History: Thomas Callister (c.1716-1807) died aged 83. He was the great-grandfather of John Caesar Callister (1885-1963) of 'Willow Grove', Thelham Bridge, St Judes, (West Craye), Andreas.
