Administration / Biographical History: The committee was appointed at the annual general meeting of the isle of man Natural History and Antiquarian Society in 1908 . It was 'formed for the purpose of making inquiry and with number and position of all the historic and pre-historic remains in the Isle of Man, and of making a careful and systemic examination of such remains and drawing up a full and particular report thereon'. Meetings were held in parishes around the Island where various keeils and remains were inspected.
