Scope & Content: Handwritten diary with gaps, in which Elizabeth describes her social and home life and her reflections. She mentions many people in passing such as two Canadian girls, Lucy and Eliza Ward, who were staying in Peel and attending Miss Kayle's School in 1869. Mrs Pooley is frequently mentioned as is Captain Anderson, Dr Wood, Archdeacon Kaye, Miss Farrant and Christian Corlett. There is a general reference to people visited as well as some thoughts on an unnamed 'him'.

Administration / Biographical History: Elizabeth Jane Graves (1843-1931) was the daughter of Henry Graves (sailmaker and ship builder of Peel) and Catherine Clucas.
