Scope & Content: Illustrated BSc Marine Biology dissertation submitted to Department of Environmental and Evolutionary Biology, Universty of Liverpool (Port Erin Marine Laboratory). In a summary and evaluation the author lists the most important features of the shorebird population of the Langness/Derby Haven/Sandwick area which add to the value of the site and increase the need for effective conservation. Tables of feeding and roosting counts for Ronaldsway Airport, Sandwick, Langness and Derbyhaven are presented as are monthly maxima of shorebirds during the winter of 1990-1991 and yearly maxima 1980-1989 for the Langness Derbyhaven area.
