Creator(s): Burnett, David
Scope & Content: PhD thesis submitted to Oxford Brookes University, funded by a grant from the Isle of Man Government and carried out in collaboration with DOLGE. Chapters are arranged as follows: 1. Introduction, 2. Previous Manx Group research, 3. Lithofacies distribution and lithostratigraphy, 4.Petrography, 5. Geochemistry, 6. Petrophysical properties, 7. Manx Group stratigraphy and provenance, 8. Conclusions, 9. Further work. Also includes appendices: on Lithofacies scheme of Quirk and Burnett (1999); Manx Group lithofacies maps;sample details; petrographic data; Geochemical analyses; Skiddaw Group geochemistry; Magnetic susceptibility and gamma ray data.
