Scope & Content: MS 09954/1 Undated letter to Winifred Tuckfield written in red ink on Knockaloe Aliens' Detention Camp headed paper, containing a detailed critique of her artwork, with Knox not holding back on candid comment, his opening line being, 'Your work is not simple enough: there is nothing the matter with them except in the mode of painting: they are confused, blurred and sloppy...',

MS 09954/2/1-3 Letters to Mrs Holding from 1919, 1930 and 1932, the first written on 26 October 1919, the day after Knox (an official postal censor) left Knockaloe Camp for the last time, containing seven pages of detailed information, including a diagram of camp layout, about the work of the censors, the nature of the parcels they inspected, the going rates on the black market inside the camp, Knox's routine and the influence on him of the seascape and clouds rolling over the Irish sea.
