Administration / Biographical History: Captain Philip Gell (b. 29 December 1827) married Eunice Mylchreest in 1859, the sister of his eldest brother's wife, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Mylchreest (1829-1909) of Ballagarraghyn. Eunice predeceased him, after which his sister in law Lizzie lived with him at Anfield Hey, Victoria Road, Douglas.
Gell was a director of the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company from 1872 until 1891. He died on 26 September 1898.
