Scope & Content: This presentation was delivered to a gathering of the Friends of Manx National Heritage at the Empress Hotel, Douglas on 14 March 1995. Resources comprise 31 colour slides (transparencies) accompanied by typescript notes subdivided by slide number providing a running commentary. The images include views of of nineteenth century Douglas, depictions of specific rescues, the locations of the lifeboat station, naming ceremonies and particular vessels and crew. There are also images of Sir William Hillary and coxswain Isaac Vondy.
