Scope & Content: Typescript acoount with many corrections and amendments. Arranged by introduction, index and four chapter headings: The Historic Background, The Georgian and Early Victorian Town, Early Victorian Days and Under Civic Administration. With five pages of notes on the industries of Douglas (82 sheets). The wording of the introduction reveals that this work was intended for publication. Also a rough note [by Mathieson] querying whether he concurs with Leonard Craine's conclusions about the location of the Castle Mona Lodge (stated in Craine's paper on the history of the Castle Mona estate, 1952 at MS 09292). Mathieson declares the Lodge was where Castle Mona Terrace now forms the Promenade (1 sheet).
