Scope & Content: The identification of Elimar Schluter is derived from the prisoner number 27674 which is marked on the glass plate, and comparison with the repatriation lists which appear on the ICRC website. He arrived in Knockaloe from Alexandra Palace on 27/9/16. His Red Cross information bureau number was 51681. He first appears on a list of prisoners dated 10/6/1916 and is recorded at a prisoner at Eastcote camp, Northants. Date of birth shown as 21/4/1879, recorded as 'LW' (Landwehr) home address: Santa Cruz de Teneriffe, Canary Islands & Louise Schluter, Hamburg 31, Armbrusterstr 4/II. Born Brake a/d W. Oldenburg. There is a record of their marriage in Hamburg in 1913.
