Scope & Content: The glass plate has been annotated '21259 Wind'. This corresponds to prisoner Bruno Paul Wind who appears on the 1919 ICRC repatriation list with Knockaloe number 21259 and Red Cross number 34122. He arrived in Knockaloe on 6/10/15, and is first shown on a June 1915 list of prisoners at Handforth camp, aged 41. He was recorded as Landsturm (army reserve), home address 111 Metchley Lane, Harborne, Birmingham. He was born in Berlin. Prior to the war he had been a professional [?] actor in German language plays in London. He married for the first time in 1904 at St Mary's German Lutheran church, London, to a German woman Frieda Elenor Krause, a widow. His occupation in the register appears to be ziseleur (engraver). He married for the second time in Berlin in 1928. He died in Berlin in 1964 (www.ancestry.co.uk)
He is also listed in 'Camp IV Grosse Kunstgewerbe Austellung 27 Marz bis 2 April 1916' as an exhibitor in the metalwork section. His entry was listed as Getriebenes Wappen.
