Scope & Content: Contains archaeological material relating to both Manx and non Manx sites and topics. The Manx material is in the form of primary notes, sketched and measured plans, photographic material, draft site reports and correspondence relating to the excavations at Ronaldsway in 1943. Non archaeological material includes mostly Manx Museum related correpondence and notes.

Administration / Biographical History: Basil Megaw was Assistant Director of the Manx Museum from 1936 and its Director from 1940 until 1957. During his time in the Island he carried out a number of rescue excavations on a range of sites. His collaboration with J R Bruce in the publication of the Ronaldsway House site, excavated in 1943 by his wife, Eleanor, with the assistance of Bersu whilst Megaw was on active service, has produced the most substantial element of this deposit of papers.
