Scope & Content: Track 1: Recollections of times past in Injebreck and Baldwin. Interviewee recounts ancestor as a 12-year-old driving cattle (his father ploughing) rather than horses to clear the forest for cultivation. He recalls his grandfather's farm in Injebreck which he sold to buy the three farms Ballig, Ballaquine and Kerrowaine in East Baldwin; daughters given farms on marriage; building of 'The Big House' [Injebreck mansion?]; the clearance of the Old Tynwald site by Cowley brothers and removal of artefacts to St Thomas' church by parson Savage and then to the Museum; St Matthew's church; carting of the stones to Douglas; processions from St Luke's church to the Killabane site; stories of press gangs.

Woman talks about netmaking looms and operatives including Mr Maddrell, the Keowns, Kellys, Kerruish and Hudson Gorry; factory production of canvas as well as nets; netmaking in Scotland and living in Lanark until 1909; father a roper; move from Lanark to Greenock to Gourock Ropeworks Company; working in the rope works until the First World War then munitions and nursing; Uncle James Cowell's brothers Harry and Charlie.

Interviewee talks about cammag; Phill Clucas, well known Manx evangelist; Harry Ballayelse (Cubbon); his father giving charity to beggars.

Track 2: Interviewee tells a ghost story; the tale of the nugget of gold involving Tom Quilliam (related to Captain Quilliam) part of the crew of the 'Vixen' which went to Australia from Peel (1853); men going from Glen Maye and Dalby to the goldfields. She talks about the Woolcock family of Foxdale mine; Manx fender and candlesticks made out of ore from Foxdale mines; smithy Ballasylvono owned by Mr Kelly of The Albion, Douglas; blacksmith Mr Ratcliffe; Cornaa mill; Kelly the Weaver, Mr Kerruish, Old Mrs Kelly, Mr Cain, Mr and Mrs John Kissack, Mr Kerruish, Jimmy Johnson and Mr Fowlis; John Murray Cregeen’s gorse mill; Cardle Moar and Cardle Veg old cart road, Curragh road and Ballaglass road; the 'Big Snow'.

Interviewee talks about his work as a joiner in 1907 repairing farm carts and farm buildings; blacksmith hooping wheels; agricultural machinery; the Kellys, millwrights and their windmill; rushes used as thatch; twisted straw to make rope to tie up the stooks; Sartfield Quarry; working on an old cottage in Orrisdale.
