Notes by P.M.C. Kermode on peat and letters from R. Cunliffe-Shaw regarding old-style Manx farmhouses

First letter to PMC Kermode from R Cunliffe-Shaw enquiring about the interiors of more affluent landowners. The second letter contains information obtained from Mr James Radcliffe of Ballaradcliffe about the interior decoration of the old farmhouse. Carpets were of their own wool woven by Lace-Radcliffes, the weavers of Andreas. Best beds four posters with canopy and common beds made of plain wood built into a corner of the room. Furniture appeared to be a mix of local and imported furniture.
Folklore of a place called Asneyhan (As ney = rib) at the foot of Snaefell, and "The rock of the leap (Creg y lheim) across the boundary stream between Lezayre and Ballaugh, below Sherragh Vane.
