Scope & Content: Walter refers to Captain Danaher of the Irish Folklore Commission and Yn Cheshaght Ghailckgagh collectors. He talks about working at the Manx Museum and the work of Yn Cheshaght Ghailckgagh; acquiring equipment for sound recording to record the Manx Gaelic speakers; Kevin Danaher coming over to record native speakers in 1948. Walter recalls his memories of the following native Manx speakers and stories about recording them: Mrs Kneale from Ballagarrett in Bride; Mrs Knealeā€™s brother John Thomas Kaighin; The Gaaue, John Kneen; Harry Boyd; Ned Maddrell and his meeting Eamon De Valera at Cregneash; Tommy Karran; Dougie Faragher; Sage Kinvig at Garey Hollin, Ronague; Eric Cregeen and his recordings of Sage Kinvig; Tommy Leece from Kerrowkeeill; Mrs Lowey in Kirkle. He describes how the contributors would direct them to others who spoke Manx; collecting new words; the collectors, Mary Quilliam, Margaret Stevenson; place names and field names collected; Joseph Qualtrough, president of Yn Cheshaght Ghailckgagh; Jack Gell, Will Radcliffe; Mark Braide, Leslie Quirk, Charlie Clark, Eleanor Karran from Cregneash.

Walter talks about the lack of facilities and opportunity to record; the Folk Life Survey papers; sound equipment; connection with Scots Gaelic and Irish Gaelic. He ends by talking about his work at the Manx Museum as a technician.
