Audio Player:
Date(s): 6 September 1959
Scope & Content: Sage Kinvig talks to Walter Clarke and Eric Cregeen at her home in Ronague. The recording begins mid-way through her telling a story, but the sound is poor and her words are indistinct. Clarke asks if she remembers travelling tailors, she says her father was a tailor but he gave it up owing to poor health. Her father went to the fishing out from Peel but she doesn't remember the boat type or name.
Sage mentions superstition about the third boat to leave the harbour; how her father did not go to Kinsale; how young boys worked as cooks on boats. The interview continues with various questions about the past and is mostly in English apart from a short segment when Sage speaks Manx Gaelic (44 min. 36 sec.).
