'The Liverpool Scottish and Manx Dead during the Great War'

Scope & Content: Illustrated typescript article with introductory details about the 1/10 King's Liverpool Regiment (The Liverpool Scottish battalion) in which the author lists the twenty Manx war dead alphabetically giving their rank, date of death, age at death, parents and address. There is also a table of where to find their remains and a more detailed account of the military action in which each soldier died. Perry explains his interest in the First World War starting from his school days in Ramsey and describes the impact of visiting war memorials and graves in France and Belgium. He quotes from the wartime poetry of Lt Col Bendall, London Regiment, Lt W E S Owen, Manchester Regiment and in conclusion Siegfried Sassoon when commenting on the aftermath of the Great War.
