Administration / Biographical History: King was born in Douglas, the son of George Albert and Mary King of St George's Street. He served with the 1st Manx Service Company, Liverpool Regiment but was later with the Northumberland Fusiliers attached to the 25th (Tyneside Irish) Btn and nominally with the 5th Cheshires at his time of death. Press reports stated he died of pneumonia whilst receiving treatment for malaria contracted in the Salonika Campaign, Greece.
