Private Gale with lady friend

Scope & Content: Private Gale is serving with the Canadian Expeditionary Force, during the First World War. On his shoulder he wears a brass title 'Canada' and at the top of his sleeve are coloured formation patches indicating his unit. on his collar flaps are 'collar dogs' (small badges) with the number 29, indicating that he was with the 29th Battalion.
This is possibly Private Stafford Gale who is recorded in a newspaper report as visiting his aunt and uncle on the Island in January 1918.
