Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'The quaint rear of the Assembly Rooms, and the curious outlet of the Flemish house. Note the projecting stones in the dark wall, forming a primitive bulnose to repel the sea at high tide when this wall was out on the shore'. Additional note: 'The following print shews the view from the above mentioned outlet windown and all back windows thence eastward, prior to the reclamation of the foreshore for the Loch Promenade and the Victoria Street area'.
