Seneschal Lane, Douglas
Date(s): 1932-1934
Creator(s): Frowde, John James
Scope & Content: On the back of this photograph Frowde writes, 'In this the dainty tracery of the upper portion of Smagg's rear window comes out rather more clearly than in the glossy prints. The curved woodwork, supporting the glass, was a marvel of delicate workmanship; and if the glass were broken, it would mean some tricky work in the matter of glazing. I had traversed this route by day many a time & oft; but it was only (No 49) when I had the experience therein described, that I realised the beauty of those delicate window curves with the lamp behind them displaying their charm'.
